Treasure Hunting (Summer learning journey)

LI: To collect materials needed to successfully complete our weekly superpower building missions with Nano girl.

This week we began our first task of the summer learning task. We had to get items from a video and thought about if we had to right items from it. We worked in groups which gave us the opportunity to think about what we were gonna make with the items we had. This was a fun task because since our school are not holiday we got to work other people from other classes.

Problem-I’m outside the plane 

Solution- The plane landed

 

Here I am sleeping in the plane. Well I thought I was in the plane but I heard my friend screaming we were going to die so I woke up and we were outside the plane. How did we get up here I thought?. 

This must be a dream but I 

pinched myself and I didn’t wake up.

But then I thought to myself when will the plane stop?. But suddenly I heard a big boom! It was scary but nothing happened. 

Everything was normal. I was on a plane.That's unfortunate but then I saw a big fire through the window of the plane and then I yelled fire! Me and my friend rushed to the edge of the plane's wing.

The fire got bigger and bigger until it rained and the fire was gone. Me and my friend felt no longer threatened by fiery flames. 

But something happened when the plane was landing. I said we're finally free. 

My friend shouted hooray. Until we realised we do not know where we landed but we could say to the pilot’s that were lost and we needed 

to try to find home. After that me and my friend hopped on the plane and went home.

Art Colouring Book

 L.I: To experiment with colours.

This morning we started by doing one of the Summer Learning Journey activities. The purpose of this task was experiment with colours by mixing the colours from the original palette with pop colours. This allowed us to recolour famous paintings or images of landmarks around the world. First off I chose this picture because I want to challenge myself. This is a painting of some roses that I coloured in. The original painting was made by Vincent Van Gogh.

Te Reo Volcanos

 

This week we did Te Reo Maori. We researched volcano's in Auckland and we learnt the Maori names of the volcano's

Light and Sound Experiment

This afternoon Room  5 and LS1 went to the reserve and did an experiment. We needed to put our hands up when we heard the clapper. We made a long line beside the water. Ms Kirkpatrick was at one end. When she clapped the sound travelled down the line. People put their hands up in a wave. We saw the clapper before we heard the sound because light travels faster than sound.
